Few coastlines have shaped the way people imagine summer like Italy's. Striped umbrellas lined up on the shingle, boats anchored in clear water, pastel houses stacked up the cliffs. This guide walks through our Italian prints by place, and how to choose one for your home.
Positano and the Amalfi Coast
Positano is the picture most people have in mind: houses in pink, peach and ochre stepping down to the beach. Vibrant Rainbow Riviera, Positano and When the Coast Illuminates capture the town itself, while Endless Summer, Amalfi Coast and Under the Amalfi Coast Sun look down on the beaches, where rows of umbrellas turn into pattern. These work best large, above a sofa or a dining table, where the detail can be read up close.
Capri
Capri is quieter in colour and bolder in shape. Faraglioni Rocks, Isle of Capri shows the island's famous sea stacks, and Shades of Capri turns a beach club into rows of colour against turquoise water. For a softer, more social feel, Sun, Style, Beachclubs - Capri and Sun Basking Capri Style bring in the people and the long lunches.
Portofino and the Italian Riviera
Further north, the Ligurian coast is deep green hills and darker water. Portofino and Portofino From Above show the harbour from two angles, and Dropping Anchor, a single boat on deep blue water, is a natural fit for bedrooms and hallways. The Riviera Pair puts two Riviera prints together as a set.
Lake Como
For something calmer than the coast, Lake Como and Gioia Beach Club trade sea for lake and mountain light. They suit studies and bedrooms, where a quieter image wears better over time.
How to choose
- Match the room's light. Bright, white rooms carry the saturated Positano and Capri prints. Darker rooms suit the deeper blues of Portofino.
- Go large for detail. Beach scenes from above are made of small figures and umbrellas, and they reward 83 × 118 cm or our 100 × 150 cm statement size. Our sizing guide has the measurements.
- Framed or unframed. Every print comes with a 5 cm white border. Framed works arrive ready to hang in a white timber frame. Framed or unframed explains the difference.
- See it first. Upload a photo of your wall to our wall tool, or send us a photo and we'll mock it up for you.
